Bihar: The colorful beliefs and customs of our country (India) are unique and different from each other. One such strange practice has been seen in the temple of Mundeswari Mata.
It is one of the oldest temples of India. Mata Mundeswari’s temple is situated at the height of 608 feet on the Parvara hill of Kaimur mountain range in Bhagwanpur area of Kaimur district of Bihar.
Here the process of sacrificing goat in the temple is very unique. It is said that goats are not sacrificed in the temple. Here the goat is brought before the Goddess, on which the priest spells rice sprouts, whereby goat turns unconscious. Later, again priest sprinkles rice on the lying goat soon after which it regains its consciousness.
Temple was reportedly built in 108 AD, but the Archaeological Survey of India’ information says that this temple existed before 635 AD.
