Cuttack, March 9: The annual matriculation examinations, conducted by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE), concluded Monday. Evaluation of the answer sheets will begin March 17.
“The evaluation will be held at 64 centres. Besides, we have opened two units for evaluation of Telugu, Hindi and Persian scripts. The evaluation would conclude March 27,” Nihar Ranjan Mohanty, Controller of Examinations, BSE, told mediapersons.
Students appeared for the tough Mathematics exam, for which the BSE had given them a gap of four days, on the last day of the examinations Monday.
“This year, we allowed 30 minutes of extra time to students for Mathematics considering it takes more time for them to work out the problems through calculations. As per the schedule, the students were provided with OMR sheets 15 minutes before the examination which began at 9 am. The OMR examinations ended at 10.15 am while the subject test began at 10.25 am and ended at 11.55 am,” informed BSE president Prof Dakshya Prasad Nanda.
A total of 5,92,281 students appeared in the examinations which had begun February 23.
