Baripada: Mayurbhanj has done magic by helping the BJD win 53 Zilla Parishad (ZP) seats out of 56 in the latest rural polls. Cooperation from all will definitely help the party secure all 56 seats soon and do the magic again, 5T and Nabin Odisha Chairman Kartik Pandian said during his visit to the district, Tuesday.

Addressing a gathering at Chhau Ground in Baripada, Pandian termed BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik as the people’s leader and went on to narrate about the CM’s vision and efforts for a transformed and empowered Odisha.

At the age of 77, the CM has been working day in and day out for Odisha. “Witnessing his actions round-the-clock encouraged me to follow his path,” Pandian said.

In his veiled attack on the Opposition, Pandian highlighted state’s development journey by citing initiatives like LAccMI and BSKY. “Isn’t Odisha transforming?” he asked.

“The Chief Minister is like our father, our guru. He is the driving force behind 4.5 crore people of Odisha. He has been working 24X7 just to see a smiling Odisha, an empowered Odisha,” Pandian said.

The 5T Chairman added he is Biju Patnaik’s son and has been the CM five times. “It doesn’t matter to him if he becomes the CM for the sixth time. But his vision is for good governance and a new Odisha. The CM seeks cooperation and blessings from Mayurbhanj for it,” Pandian said.

“It isn’t BJD government; it’s your government – people’s government. This government will do as per your wishes and advice. The people of Odisha are Naveen and Biju Babu’s family. People’s confidence in BJD and Naveen Patnaik has grown immensely,” he said.

Before addressing the gathering at Chhau Ground, the 5T Chairman attended a programme of Nua-O at Maharaja Sriram Chandra Bhanjadeo University. Pandian spoke to students at the university ground in Baripada and inspired the youth to join in building a new Odisha.

He said that Nua–O has created great opportunities for the youth. This programme will help them showcase their talent and develop their overall personality. Along with this, they can also achieve remarkable success in their academic career, he added.

BJD Organisational Secretary Pranab Prakash Das, School and Mass Education as well as Revenue Minister Sudam Marndi, Women and Child Development Minister Basanti Hembram, MP Mamata Mohanta and Morada MLA Rajkishore Das among others accompanied Pandian during the district visit.
