Brahmagiri: A nine-year-old mentally challenged girl was allegedly raped by a 55-year-old man at Kathuaredi village here. Although the shocking incident took place Monday, it came to light the next day after the survivor’s father lodged a complaint with Brahmagiri police.
Acting on the complaint, the police registered a case and launched a probe.
According to sources, the accused, who hails from the same village, along with his family members was threshing paddy Monday when the minor girl went there. The wife of the accused asked him to drop the girl at her home and while the duo was on their way to the girl’s residence, the accused raped her.
