Bhubaneswar: The Regional Meteorological Centre today issued thunderstorm warning for as many as 15 districts of Odisha.
Thunderstorm with lightning and light rain are likely to occur in the districts of Kandhamal, Angul, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Dhenkanal, Cuttack and Khurda between 3pm and 6pm Sunday, a bulletin of the meteorological centre said.
Similar weather condition is likely to prevail at some paces places in the districts of Jajpur, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Balasore, Sundargarh, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj between 4 pm and 7 pm today, the bulletin added.
The Met department also predicted occurrence of thunderstorm with lightning and gusty wind with speed reaching 30-40 KMPH and light rain at one or two places over the districts of Jajpur, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Balasore, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Nuapada, Balangir, Sonepur and Mayurbhanj between 4.30 pm and 7.30 pm.
People in these places have been advised to stay indoors during the period.
