Bhubaneswar, Feb 9: The India Meteorological Department Monday predicted rain or thundershower at one or two places in north-interior Orissa and warned of moderate fog that might reduce visibility up to 500 metres along the coast in the next 24 hours.
Met director Sarat Sahu informed Orissa POST a trough line has formed over the state that may trigger rain or thundershower at a few pockets. “The trough line will trigger light to moderate rain over the northern parts of the state. This might continue till February 13. However, apart from northern and coastal parts, the rest of the state will witness sunshine,” said Sahu.
The weatherman further predicted that coastal pockets may witness chilly weather once again. “The weather will be cold over a few coastal pockets which will further generate moderate fog,” the director said.
However, the weather condition over the Capital city and adjoining areas may remain normal with the sky remaining partly cloudy with or without rain in the next 24 hours. The maximum and minimum temperature may hover between 30 and 16 degree Celsius, Tuesday.
