Bargarh: A toddler was killed after being swept away by the heavy current in a canal at Balipada village near Attabira in Bargarh district Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as three-year-old Jitu, son of Sanu Mirdha.
According to reports, the boy was swept away by the strong current in the canal near Lahanda mines.The boy accidentally fell into the canal while he was playing.
Locals rescued the kid and took him to a nearby hospital, where the doctor declared him brought dead.
