Bhadrak: The body of a Class III boy student was exhumed at Mallick Sahi of Lunga panchayat under Basudevpur block in Bhadrak district Thursday evening.
The deceased was identified as Manoranjan Mallick (8), son of Srikrushna Mallick of the area.
According to reports, Manoranjan died at his home due to some unknown reasons Thursday morning following which his parents buried his body in the backyard of their house.
When Manoranjan’s maternal grandfather heard the news of the former’s untimely death, he suspected some foul play in the incident. He then lodged a complaint with Basudevpur police alleging that Manoranjan’s death was not natural.
Acting on the complaint, police reached the spot and exhumed Manoranjan’s body. Later it was sent for autopsy.
The exact reason behind the death could only be ascertained after the receipt of autopsy report, said Basudevpur Police Station IIC Umashankar Nayak.
