Kotgarh: In yet another shameful incident, a class 7 girl was allegedly raped by a youth in Kotagarh area. Reportedly, the incident came to the fore after the family members of the victim filed a complaint in Kotagarh police station regarding the incident.
Swinging into action, the cops arrested the accused. He has been identified as Akhaya Badanayak. He was forwarded to court Friday.
The survivor, a Class-VII student, told her parents about her ordeal, following which, they lodged a complaint at Kotagarh police station.
“After interrogation and medical examination, the youth Akhay Badnayak has been arrested and forwarded to court,” informed IIC Niroj Kumar Samal.
Since the news of a Class 8 rape victim delivering a baby inside a Kandhamal hostel premises has come to the fore, the district has been in the limelight. With many such cases coming to the fore back to back, sources said that this was the eighth case in the last 20 days in Kandhamal district.
