Attabira: Cops from Rusuda police outpost under Bheden police station limits in Bargarh district arrested a youth Wednesday on a charge of betraying a minor girl. The accused has been identified as Laxman Guru, a resident of Gurupali village. According to the source, Laxman was in a romantic relationship with a minor girl in his village. The lovebirds even decided to get married but as they belonged to different castes, their family members did not agree with the proposal.
However, the accused eloped with the minor girl outside the state December 23 last year. After living together happily there for a few months, the accused left the girl alone and did not return. Unable to contact Laxman, the minor returned to her village and narrated her ordeal to family members. The minor girl’s father then lodged a written complaint in this regard at Rusuda police outpost. Acting on the complaint, the police registered a case under sections 363, 376 of IPC and POCSO Act. Police arrested the accused after launching a manhunt and forwarded him to court Wednesday
