Rasol, Dec 31: Kolkata police Wednesday arrested a minor from Kunua here, with the assistance of Rasol police, on charge of murdering a woman in Kolkata and fleeing with her gold ornaments.
During his arrest, 50 grams of gold ornaments, including 12 pairs of gold bangles and a gold necklace was seized from his possession. Police produced him in the juvenile court and later took him on remand for questioning. Police said the accused was working as a domestic help with a couple Kamla Devi and Shiba Shankar Mintry in Jatin Das Road of Kolkata. The accused soon won the trust of the couple and hatched a plan with a youth of Bihar to loot the gold ornaments worn by the woman.
The duo, in the absence of her husband and other family members, killed the woman and fled with the booty December 28. The matter came up for investigation after Shiba Shankar lodged a complaint in the local police station.
