Puri: In a shocking incident, a youth was hacked to death by miscreants in front of his father at Alasahi village under Astaranga police limits in Puri district, Saturday night. The deceased has been identified as Dillip Swain, son of Sadhu Swain.
Locals informed that the miscreants attacked the father-son duo when during a at the village to resolve a dispute. Both sustained critical injuries and were admitted to nearby hospital, where Dillip succumbed to his injuries. Sadhu, whose condition is also critical, is going under treatment. The accused however, fled the spot after injuring the two.
Police reached the spot after coming to know about the incident. Investigation and efforts are on to nab the accused. A damaged car with blood stains on its bonnet and a knife have been seized from the spot.
Meanwhile, locals blocked the village road by burning tyres demanding immediate arrest of the miscreants.
