Malkangiri: The body of a minor girl, reportedly missing from Bejangibada village, was recovered from a farmland near the village under Kalimela block in this district Thursday morning.
Locals Wednesday night spotted the body near the village with a dupatta wrapped around her neck and clothes ripped off. They informed the girl’s family members, who lodged a complaint with the local police.
The girl was missing since Monday.
It was suspected that she might have been raped and then murdered before dumping her body in the farmland.
Meanwhile the police have started investigation and raids were being carried out in several places, reports said.
