Cuttack, May 24: Mizoram emerged champions of the inaugural National Sub-Junior Women’s Football Championship, mauling Haryana 3-0 in the final at the flood-lit Barabati Stadium here Sunday.
In a match that was keenly-contested in phases Mizoram took the lead in the 30th minute when Elizabeth broke the deadlock. After the change of ends, Mizoram began to dominate proceedings and scored two more goals through B vanal (62nd) and Elizabeth (66th)
Orissa sports secretary Saswat Mishra and Orissa Olympic Association (OOA) secretary Asirbad Beheara were among the dignitaries present and distributed the prizes.
