Bhubaneswar, Sept 18: Mother Public School (MPS) and Sainik School entered semifinals of the Inter-School MCL Cup football tournament after winning their respective quarterfinal matches at the Unit-VI HS Ground here Friday.
In the first quarterfinal, MPS beat Rama Krushna Sikhya Kendra (RSK) 3-2 via the tie-breaker after the match ended goalless in regulation time. In the ensuing penalty shoot-out, MPS could convert three of their five chances, while RSK could find the target twice. Sourish Mishra of the winning team was adjudged the man of the match.
Sainik School pipped DPS Kalinga 1-0 a nail-biting match. Ashok Jena scored the all important goal of the match. Rishav Paresh of DPS was adjudged man of the match.

JSJS Bhabani FC defeated Golak Bihari Youth Association (GBYA) by a solitary goal in a Group-C match of the 12th Gati Krushna Memorial football league at the Unit-I Boys’ HS Ground here Friday to ensure victory for his side.
Football tourney
Unit-VI Athletic Association will organise the Jayant Mohapatra Memorial women’s one-day football tournament at the Unit-VI HS Ground here September 20. Altogether four teams will be participating in this tournament.
