Cuttack: Swami Vivekanand National Institute of Rehabilitation Training and Research at Olatpur here will soon have MRI and CT scan facilities, announced Union minister Thawar Chand Gehlot here Monday.
Along with these facilities, dedicated support staff would also be provided, the Social Justice and Empowerment Minister said during his visit to the institute.
The Union minister, who inaugurated several facilities at SVNIRTAR, said the institute would be provided with an ambulance equipped with ICU facilities.
He along with other dignitaries distributed laptops to Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe students. Among others MP Kulamani Samal, MLA PK Mallick and SVNIRTAR director SP Das were present.
Earlier, the minister told newsmen at Bhubaneswar airport that he would discuss with state government about the girl students’ silent walk in Mayurbhanj district against the harassment of their teachers. “I will look into the issue and seek details so that my ministry can resolve the issue,” Gehlot said.
