Cuttack, Feb 20: Mumbai pace spearhead Shardul Thakur roared again as the 40-time Ranji champions trounced Delhi by 204 runs to enter the semifinals at the DRIEMS ground in Tangi Friday. Medium pacer Balwinder Sandhu (3/35) and Shardul shared six wickets among them to bundle out Delhi for 236 runs.
Chasing a mammoth 440 to win, Delhi resumed at their overnight score of 110 for four but an in batting line-up collapsed again. All-rounder Rajat Bhatia top-scored with 49, before being dismissed by man of the match Shardul, who spoiled Delhi with overall match figures of 8/113. But the day belonged to Balwinder who broke the Delhi middle-order. He took the important wicket of Virender Sehwag, clean bowling the former India batsman for 19.
Meanwhile, medium-pacer Wilkin Mota (2/55) and left arm spinner Harmeet Singh (2/55) also bagged two wickets each to make their presence felt.
