Musical nite contributes to noble cause

BHUBANESWAR: The second musical nite of Hum Saath Saath Hai, a program organised by iTUNE, hosted multiple talented singers of the state at Rabindra Mandap here Sunday.

The trust began its programme by felicitating leading music director Prema Nanda, lyricist Arun Mantri, Classical Guru Pandit (Dr.) Chitta Ranjan Pani, Guru Subrat Chaudhury, Guru Nalini Kanta Rath, Guru Sarada Prasanna Sahoo and eminent singer Dev Das.

This was followed by performances of singers Shasank, Jagruti, Sheema, Jasmeen, Devi, Surya, Siddhant, Suraj, Sanchita, Smaranika, Anuradha and Sulanga. The packed audience was truly enthralled by the energetic acts.

Theme song ‘Hum Sath Sath Hain’ was sung by Devi, Surya, Suraj, Jasmeen, Sanchita and Jagruti. The performance prompted a rousing round of applause from the audience.

Participants also rendered their voices to songs like ‘Roz Shaam Ati Thi’, ‘Chora Chora Preeti’, ‘Nayak Nahin Khalnayak Hun Mai’, ‘Ae Jibane Mo Jibane’, ‘Tanhai Hupke Chupke Raat Din’, ‘Jhumka Gira Re’, ‘Hawa Hawai’, ‘Sathi Tere Naam Ek Din’, ‘Akhioon Ko Rehene Do’, ‘Isharon Isharon Mein Dil Dene Wali’, ‘Chand Mera Dil’, ‘Ola La Ola La’, ‘Tumse Milke Aisa Laga’, ‘Radha Kaise Na Jale’, ‘Dil Main Aag Lagaye’ and ‘Kisi Nazar Ko Tera’. Each of these songs entertained the revellers.

The presentation style of anchor Gulshan Nadeem was loved by all.  iTunes contributed a percentage of funds collected from the event to Md. Husnain, a 11-year-old suffering from cancer.

The organisers of iTunes Kumar Gourab Panda and Janhabi Deo said, “iTUNE is planning to conduct more nights like this in the near future to promote noble causes like upliftment of children in the slum areas, promoting education and enhancing vocation skills especially among children, women, elderly and differently abled individuals.”
