Kendrapara: Hundreds of members of minority community under the banner of Muslim and Dalit Mahasangha of the district Saturday submitted a memorandum to the President through the District Collector opposing the NRC and CAA.
Earlier, the members of the minority community, the activists of the Congress party and the Left parties wanted to march in a procession from Idgah Padia to District Collector’s office to submit the memorandum but they were prevented by the police.
Later, District Collector, Samarth Verma and the SP reached Idgah Padia and received the memorandum from the agitators.
The minority community members alleged that the Citizenship Amendment Act is unconstitutional and violates Article 14 and Article 15 of the Constitution and demanded its revocation.
