Berhampur: Mutilated bodies of a man and a woman were found on rail tracks near Jhami temple in Ankuli area of Ganjam district, early Tuesday morning.
The incident came to fore after locals crossing the railway line spotted the bodies lying there.
Government Railway Police (GRP) personnel recovered the bodies and sent it for autopsy after being informed by the locals.
A case of unnatural death has been registered and investigation has begun.
The identity of the deceased duo, however, is yet to be ascertained.
Though the exact reason behind the deaths is yet to known, local residents suspect that the duo might have committed suicide.
