Nabarangpur: As many as 30 passengers had a narrow escape after the bus they were travelling in caught fire near Circuit House in Nabarangpur district Thursday morning.
According to passengers, the incident took place while the bus named Chakadola was on its way to Koraput from Bhubaneswar.
The matter came to light after the driver spotted smoke emanating from the bus. The vehicle was immediately stopped and all the passengers were evacuated.
Fortunately, no one was hurt as the vehicle was completely destroyed in the blaze.
On being informed, fire tenders reached the spot to douse the flames.
The exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained but a short circuit is suspected to have led to the mishap.
