Bhubaneswar: After taking an aerial survey of cyclone Fani affected districts, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik announced Sunday a relief package for affected people.
Briefing mediapersons here, Naveen announced that all families covered under National Food Security Act (NFSA) in the extremely severe affected areas of Puri and Khurda will get 50 kg rice along with Rs 2,000 cash and a polythene piece.
For parts of Khurda district that have been severely affected, the families residing there and covered under NFSA will get a month’s quota of rice in addition to their entitlement, Naveen said while, adding, Rs 1,000 cash will also provided to them.
Similarly, he said, the people of partially affected Cuttack, Kendrapara and Jagatsinghpur districts will get a month’s quota of rice along with Rs 500 cash.
“In all the affected districts one moth additional pension and house building assistance will be provided as per relief code — Rs 95,100 for fully damaged structures, Rs 5,200 for partially damaged structures and Rs 3,200 for buildings that have suffered minor damagaes,” the Chief Minister said.
The houses, which have been completely destroyed due to cyclone Fani, will be reconstructed under housing schemes. The loss of agricultural and horticultural crops, animal resources and fisheries will be assessed and compensated accordingly, added Naveen.
The Chief Minister assured that plantation of trees will be taken up in a mission mode after completion of relief and restoration works.
