Naveen appoints BJD leaders in plum posts

Bhubaneswar:  In a move to rehabilitate party leaders, BJD supremo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik Friday appointed over a dozen BJD leaders in various positions of state run PSUs and government offices.

According to a notification, Lenin Mohanty has been appointed as editor of Utkal Prasanga and Odisha Review while Sujeet Kumar has been posted as advisor to Special Development Councils formed in tribal districts.

BJD leaders Krutibas Patra, Anubhav Patnaik, Utkal Keshari Parida, Debasis Mallick, Sulata Deo, Janmejay Lenka, Ramachandra Panda and Lopamudra Buxipatra are appointed as advisor to Agriculture & Farmers Empowerment department, Electronics & IT department, Chilika Development Authority (CDA), Odisha Forest Development Corporation (OFDC), Women & Child Development department, Odia Language Literature & Culture department, Odisha State Agriculture Marketing Board and Mission Shakti respectively.

Similarly, Debasis Mohanty has been posted as chairperson of Odisha Agro Industries Corporation while Iswar Panigrahi chairperson of Odisha Seeds Corporation. Pravaditya Mishra is the new chairperson of APICOL, Anup Sai is the chairman of Odisha Warehousing Corporation and Asit Patnaik is the chairperson of Odisha Pisciculture Development Corporation.

Other leaders, who are appointed as chairperson of various state PSUs are–Amarendra Das – Odisha State Cashew Development Corporation, Lulu Amat – Odisha Rural Housing Corporation, Chinmay Sahoo – Odisha Small Industries Corporation, Srimayee Mishra – OTDC, Amaresh Patri – Odisha Lift Irrigation Corporation and Satyabrat Tripathy – Odisha Film Development Corporation.

Besides, Bijoy Kumar Nayak will head the Odisha State Youth Welfare Board, Priyadarshi Mishra will run Odisha State Housing Board, Subash Singh will lead Odisha Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board, Sanjeev Paikray will manage Odisha Khadi and Village Industries Board), Sudhir Das to run Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana and Dilip Tirkey  will head Odisha Hockey Promotion Council.

The Chief Minister has also appointed Manas Madkami as chairperson of Special Development Council (SDC)—Malkangiri whereas Binay Toppo has been appointed as head of Sundergarh SDC. Susmita Bagchi and Akash Das Nayak are new chairpersons of Mo School and Mo College Initiatives of the state government respectively.

Biju Mahila Janata Dal leaders Minati Behera has been posted as chairperson of State Commission for Women while Kasturi Mohapatra and Sulochana Das are the new chairpersons of Social Welfare Board and State Commission for Persons with Disabilities respectively.

Former minister Pushpendra Singh Deo, who was defeated in last election from Kalahandi Lok Sabha constituency, has been posted as member of Western Odisha Development Council (WODC).
