Naveen performs ground breaking of 15 projects worth Rs 12K cr

Bhubaneswar, Nov 16: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik Thursday performed ground breaking ceremony of 15 projects involving an investment of Rs 11,690 crore through video conferencing and launched a web portal named ‘GO SWIFT’ to help investors.

The projects included Paradeep Phospate Limited’s Rs 9,459.17 crore expansion programme. Patnaik also inaugurated Falcon Marine Product Limited’s facility build at an investment of Rs 900 crore at Balasore.

The 15 industrial projects for which ground breaking ceremony was held Thursday would provide direct employment to 8,800 people. They were in fertiliser, cement, food processing, solar energy, bio-technology, marine products and power sectors.

The developers of the projects are Paradip Phosphate Limited (Rs 9,459.17crore investment), Falcon Marine Export Limited (Rs 90crore), Shree Cement (Rs 452.55crore), Ramco Cements (Rs 406.10crore), Emami Cement(Rs 401crore), JSW Cement Plant (Rs 318crore), KTL Logistics & Service (Rs 182.28crore), Oricon Enterprise (Rs 120crore), Jay Bharat Spices(61.42crore), Bharat Biotech International (RS 51crore), Indo Nissin Foods (Rs 50.44crore), Magnum estate (Rs 38crore), B-one Business House (Rs 24crore), Orissa Transformers (p) Ltd (OTPL) (20crore) and Shanti Solar (Rs 16crore).

“As I dedicate 15 industrial projects to our people today, I would like to reiterate my government’s commitment towards industrial development in the state,” Patnaik said, adding that to achieve the “Vision 2025” of attracting Rs 2.5 lakh crore of new investment and generating 30 lakh jobs, all departments should work together.

Patnaik also launched a portal named ‘GO SWIFT’ to help investors get single window facilitation and tracking mechanism online.

Through the new portal, the government has made the approval of 32 various services under 15 state government departments online.

The portal which provides updated information relating to latest rules, policy initiatives and reforms undertaken by the state government will also facilitate tracking and monitoring of applications. GO SWIFT will send messages and e-mail notifications to investors at critical stages of processing of applications. The investors can also monitor the real-time status of their submitted applications through a dashboard on the portal, sources said.

The Chief Minister announced that the Make In Orissa Conclave 2018 will be held between November 11 and 15 in Bhubaneswar.

Patnaik said the state government’s flagship initiative towards investors outreach, the Make In Orissa Conclave, 2016 was an overwhelming success with participation of over 100 companies and announcement of investment intent of more than Rs 2 lakh crore.
