Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik Friday wished happiness and prosperity for the people of the state in the New Year.
“Exchanging good wishes & Greetings wth ppl frm different walks of life…May New Year bring cheer & prosperity to all,” Patnaik wrote on his twitter handle Naveen_Odisha.
A large number of people including ruling BJD Ministers, leaders, party men, officers and well-wishers visited Naveen Niwas here to convey their New Year greetings to the Chief Minister.
People from various walks of life including a few differently-abled visited to CM’s residence to greet him on the occasion. Patnaik, along with Bhubaneswar MP Prasanna Patasani, Food supplies and consumer welfare Minister Sanjay Das Burma and a few other legislators thronged Puri Srimandir to seek the blessings of Lord Jagannath during the day.
After offering prayers at the temple, the Chief Minister paid tributes to his father and former chief minister Biju Patnaik at the Swargadwar memorial in the pilgrim city.
Earlier, the Chief Minister met Governor SC Jamir at Raj and wished him on the New Year. “Greeting our Governor Dr SC Jamir on the New Year & wishing him for his good health & happiness…” Naveen tweeted.
