Bhubaneswar, Nov 3: Neel Kamal FC entered the final of the 12th Gati Krushna Memorial football tournament (Group B) defeating Oriental Warriors 6-5 in a tense shootout at the Unit I HS ground here Tuesday. The match ended goalless in regulation time with both sides missing a number of easy chances.
The tie-breaker ended five-all after which the sudden death was applied. Neel Kamal converted the first chance in the sudden death while Warriors failed to do so and had to bow out. The goal scorers for Neel Kamal were Piyus Pratik Nanda, Gyana Jyoti Prakash, Sumit Patel, Sadamuddin, RK Jena and Sanchit Samantray. For the Warriors, Bikash Sahoo, Dharma Behera, Rakesh Sahoo, Sk. Gaush and Md Sajid got the goals.
Shooters felicitated
The president of Orissa Rifle Association AU Singh Deo and secretary Hari Patnaik felicitated the state shooters who participated in the 25th All India AIGV Mavlankar shooting championships 2015 that concluded Tuesday. It was a five-day event, which commenced from October 30 and ran until November 3. The players felicitated were Harshin Kar, Daljit Singh, Amrik Singh, Debabrata Sahoo, Anish Patnaik, Mir Mehboob Alam, Pilla Ramesh, Prasanth Mohapatra and Paresh Kumar Sarangi.
Unrest at BAA
Members of the Bhubaneswar Atheletic Association (BAA) have voiced their concerns over irregularities in the body in a press release here Tuesday. A list of financial irregularities by the body was detailed in the release. The members also complained about the alleged high-handedness of the secretary. The members also stated that in the last 25 years the elections to the various posts have been conducted only thrice.
