New train between Badampahad and Tatanagar from Jan 1

Bahalda: The Railways is going to fulfill a long pending demand of the people of Mayurbhanj.  As a New Year gift, it has decided to run a new train from Badampahad to Tatanagar from January 1.

Locals of Badampahad have long been pressing for the need for regular train service to the industrial city of Jharkhand. People going to Tatanagar could not return in a day and had to wait for the next day to return. They had to suffer in terms of money and time.

The launching of the train service was learnt from a letter (OPT/66minute/2018) issued by the chief passenger transportation manager, South Eastern Railway, Kolkata.

DMU-08031 will leave Tatanagar at 3.45 am and will reach Badampahad at 7.05 am. After a 20 minute halt, the train will leave for Tatanagar and reach there at 10.46 am.

A notification to this effect has been issued. However, the train will not run on Sundays.

The much-awaited train service has brought joy among the people at Bamanghati in Mayurbhanj. They treat it as a gift from the Prime Minister ahead of New Year and Makar Sankranti.
