Bhanjanagar: A newborn baby boy was found abandoned in a farmland at Saranuapalli village under Bellaguntha block in Ganjam district Tuesday.
The infant was first spotted by a local who heard his cries while taking bath in a pond near the farm. Later villagers reached the spot and rushed the baby to Bhanjanagar hospital.
While the condition of the baby is said to be stable, Bhanjanagar Police have registered a case and started an investigation to find out his parents.
