Neymar apprehensive ahead of return

Rio de Janeiro: Star Brazilian striker Neymar admitted that he is in ‘fear’ and needs to get rid of that as soon as possible ahead of his return for the World Cup in Russia next month after a lengthy layoff following surgery for a broken bone in his foot. Neymar suffered the injury while playing for Paris Saint-Germain in February.

In an interview published Friday on former Brazil legend Zico’s YouTube channel, Neymar said he is in a race against time to get mentally ready for the tournament. “Everything’s going well, thank God, but there’s always this fear when you come back and I need to get rid of that fear as soon as possible to arrive at the World Cup,” the 26-year-old said.

Neymar, still hopes to be completely rehabilitated by the June 14 while Brazil play their opening game against Switzerland June 17. However, he is expected to return to training in France shortly and Brazilian team doctor Rodrigo Lasmar has informed that the player can only return to field provide how he responds to Sunday’s tests.
