NIA frees Cuttack man after grilling

Cuttack: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) raided a house in Samantarapur village here Wednesday, and detained a man suspected to have links with LeT. The agency, however, released the man later after questioning.
A six-member NIA team detained the suspect, Akhtar Hussein Khan, from his rented house.
Hussein Khan belongs to Kusumandal village and had been staying in Samantarapur since five years. He was believed to be running a business in Kolkat. Sources said that Khan had returned to his house from Kolkata Tuesday night.
The NIA team, with the help of police, raided Khan’s house at 7 am and examined documents and bank passbooks.
Sources said that before starting his business in Kolkata, Khan had been working in Saudi Arabia. But his wife Asraf Nisha and son Ilyas were staying at Samantarapur.
Khan was under NIA scanner and the NIA team raided his house after coming to know that he was in Orissa. The NIA did not give details about the links of Hussein Khan with LeT.
