Jagatsinghpur: Putting all speculations to rest in much talked-about nurse Niharika murder case, Jagatsinghpur superintendent of police (SP) R Prakash Saturday informed the press that her fiancé Kishore Chandra Anchal alias Raja killed the girl.
According to Prakash, Raja murdered Niharika as she refused to marry him.
He picked up Niharika from her nursing home in Cuttack September 8 on some pretext and they went to a friend’s place at Chauliaganj.
Niharika was murdered at Kishore’s friend’s house. Her body was then stuffed into a gunny sack and was carried with its mouth tied to Biluakhai river on a motorcycle where it was thrown away on the riverbed.
Raja went underground after the incident.
Back home, Niharika’s family members were not able to contact her on her mobile phone or get to know of her whereabouts. They lodged a missing complaint with the police later.
The decomposed body of the girl was recovered from the riverbed September 17.
