Dhenkanal, Jan 16: Vigilance sleuths Thursday arrested Santosh Kumar Satpathy, the district project manager (DPM) of National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) in his office at Boudh while he was receiving bribe from an Ayush doctor.
Vigilance DSP Ananta Kumar Majhi and inspector Prabir Tripathy of the Berhampur vigilance wing caught the DPM red-handed when he was receiving Rs 6,000 from Dr Biswaranjan Jena to grant him leave at the office of the CDMO. The officials raided his home and office in Boudh.
The vigilance wing of Dhenkanal conducted raids Friday on his residence here at Madhuban. Properties worth Rs 35 lakhs were detected while the raid was still on. The list of properties included eight plots in Govindpur mouza, Rs 12-lakh house at Kunjakant, Rs 2 lakh in six of his bank accounts, gold and silver ornaments worth Rs 1 lakh and other expensive furniture in the house.
