Boudh: Young biochemist Jayram Rana from Ambagaon village under Kantamal block in Boudh district has entered the Guinness World Records by producing the largest arum leaf, family members informed Wednesday.

According to his family sources, Rana accidentally found an arum plant a couple of months back, when he was roaming in a forest in Boudh district. He then collected the plant and grew it in his house. Rana informed that he used a unique process of farming and used bio-chemical fertilisers to grow the plant. His efforts bore fruit and the plant produced a leaf 25 inches long and 29 inches wide.
The biochemist then applied for entry of his name in the Guinness World Records. Officials of the organisation verified his claim and he received a certificate in this regard.
Notably, Rana is the head of a research lab named ‘Health Science Research Foundation’. Wishes are pouring in from all quarters for his achievement.
