Nuapada: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi Sunday paid tribute to senior BJD leader and former minister Rajendra Dholakia at a memorial meeting organised by the leader’s family in Nuapada district.
Several BJD leaders attended, including party’s senior vice president Debi Prasad Mishra and women’s wing president Snehangini Chhuria.
“Late Dholakia may have had political rivals, but he had no political enemies,” Majhi said.
“He was elected to the Assembly four times and became a minister once. He made invaluable contributions to the development and transformation of Nuapada and the entire state,” he added.
Dholakia was elected from the Nuapada Assembly seat in 2004, 2009, 2019 and 2024.
CM Majhi met Dholakia’s wife, Simal, and son, Jay, and expressed condolences to the family.
During his visit, Majhi also received public complaints. “Though far from Bhubaneswar, Nuapada is in our focus. I will visit the district frequently and remain committed to its overall development,” he told reporters.
