Bhubaneswar: Odisha Police once again thanked the citizens through a tweet with emojis to mark the World Emoji Day, and urged them to respect the ‘Rule of Law’.
“We as citizens, would like to show our gratitude for their relentless effort in keeping our city safe and free of crime. The rules such as riding the vehicle by wearing helmets, not divulging OTP (passwords) number to strangers, calling police in times of emergency”…stated the police tweet suggesting the emojis were used for certain basic rules.
On a lighter note, however, one of the emojis used by Odisha Police, comes under the top 10 most used emojis globally.
July 17 has been widely accepted as the World Emoji Day and that is why the police have selected the date to infuse a sense of discipline in social life.
The Emoji date has been chosen after consideration and with a sense of purpose which is bigger than just an emoji. Emojis are widely used on Facebook and Twitter. As per data available in Emojipedia, five billion emojis are sent daily on Facebook messengers. People across the globe in 2018 used the red heart emoji twice as much as they did last year.
The Odisha police nowadays have adopted trendy ways by using funny and filmy dialogues to generate awareness on the tweets and social media messages
Recently, the police had used film dialogues for creating awareness on speeding vehicles and traffic regulations.
Emoji Day at DAV, Pokhariput
Student of Class VI and VII shared the joy of Emoji Day with their teachers and friends. The children drew paintings related to Emoji expressions. The kids also took part in the discussions focusing on the importance of emoji expressions on digital platform. They said an emoji expresses the feelings and emotions of a sender without use of too many words. A one-act play was performed on the occasion. Teacher Smaranika Patnaik took part in the event to turn the day more colourful for children.
