Bhubaneswar: The state government Tuesday announced a revision of the rates for the project-affected families under the Odisha Resettlement and Rehabilitation Policy, 2006, which will be implemented from April 1, 2026, to March 31, 2028, officials said.
This was the 10th biennial revision of various financial rates for rehabilitation grants under Clause 13 of the Odisha Resettlement and Rehabilitation Policy, 2006.
Under the revised rates, assistance for self-rehabilitation (outside rehabilitation colonies) has been increased from Rs 1,13,128 to Rs 1,16,550. Similarly, housing construction assistance has been increased from Rs 3,39,383 to Rs 3,49,650, an official statement said.
According to the statement, the one-time financial assistance in lieu of employment for families displaced by industrial projects has also been revised. The revised assistance has been fixed at Rs 11,65,500 for Category I, Rs 6,99,300 for Category II, Rs 4,66,200 for Category III, and Rs 2,33,100 for Categories IV and V.
Similarly, the one-time financial assistance in lieu of employment for families displaced by mining projects has been revised at the same rates. The assistance has been fixed at Rs 11,65,500 for Category I, Rs 6,99,300 for Category II, Rs 4,66,200 for Category III, and Rs 2,33,100 for Categories IV, V and VI.
For agricultural land, the grant for irrigated land has been increased from Rs 2,26,255 per acre to Rs 2,33,100 per acre, while the grant for non-irrigated land has been increased from Rs 1,13,128 per acre to Rs 1,16,550 per acre.
In addition, the monthly maintenance allowance has been increased from Rs 4,525 to Rs 4,662. Assistance for temporary sheds has been increased from Rs 22,626 to Rs 23,310, while the transportation allowance has been increased from Rs 4,525 to Rs 4,662.
The Finance Department has given its concurrence to the revision, and all concerned departments, Revenue Divisional Commissioners, Collectors, revenue authorities and other agencies have been informed about the revised rehabilitation grant rates, it said.
