Rourkela: A ‘Mo Bus’ operated by Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT), Odisha in Rourkela caught fire at IGT Square Saturday, a source said.
According to the source, the incident took place at around 10:30 am when the bus was on its way to Vedvyas from Rourkela carrying 10 passengers.
All the passengers, including the driver and conductor, immediately got off the vehicle after one of the passengers noticed smoke coming out from the driver’s cabin, the source added.
The bus was completely gutted by fire. However, no persons were injured in the mishap.
On being informed, Fire Services personnel rushed to the spot and doused the flames.
The exact reason behind the mishap is yet to be ascertained. However, prima facie it appears to be a case of technical glitch.
Local police have registered a case in this regard and have started an investigation into the incident.
