Bhubaneswar: Meteorological Department has issued a heat and humidity warning for Odisha, with thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and winds of 30–40 kmph likely in five districts Thursday. Such conditions are expected to persist until April 4.
A yellow warning for heat has been issued for Ganjam, Gajapati and Puri districts, while Nuapada and Nabarangpur are under a yellow warning for thunderstorms.
Weather conditions are likely to change from April 5 onward.

On Wednesday, temperatures crossed 36°C at 24 locations across the state, with Titlagarh recording the highest at 39.5°C. Dhenkanal reported high humidity levels.
Temperatures are expected to rise by 4–5°C over the next two days. The Regional Meteorological Centre has issued a yellow warning for intense heat and humidity in Puri, Ganjam and Gajapati districts until April 4.
