Kendrapara: The Panchayat Executive Officer (PEO) of Teragaon gram panchayat of Mahakalapada block in Odisha’s Kendrapara has been placed under suspension for his alleged involvement in the misappropriation of huge funds of the government.
The accused PEO has been identified as Ashok Kumar Pradhan.
The Chief Development Officer -cum- Executive Officer (CDO-cum-EO ) Zilla Parishad, Rajendra Kumar Panda Monday suspended Ashok Pradhan for irregularity in the Rural Housing scheme on the direction of District Collector Amrit Ruturaj.
Pradhan fraudulently selected ineligible beneficiaries and subsequently submitted false report for the release of the first installment for PMAY beneficiaries. The first installment for 13 persons, Rs 40,000 each has been transferred on the basis of false report.
During the period of suspension, the headquarters of Pradhan is fixed at Marshaghai block under the administrative control of Marshaghai BDO and he has been directed not to leave the headquarters without prior permission of the BDO.
The CDO-cum-EO of Zilla Parishad, Panda, also issued a show cause notice to the GRS of Teragaon gram panchayat, Himanshu Mohapatra for submitting false report for release of the first installment in respect of 13 PMAY beneficiaries.
