Bhubaneswar: People in Odisha will no longer need to visit police stations or offices for several routine police services, with the Odisha Police Friday bringing 14 citizen services under the state government’s ‘Ama Sathi’ WhatsApp chatbot.
DGP Binaytosh Mishra launched the integrated service at the DGP Camp Office here, enabling citizens to apply for police services, submit documents, track applications and, wherever available, receive digitally issued documents through WhatsApp.
The 14 services include character certificates, senior citizen registration, employee verification, tenant/PG verification, domestic help verification, registration/reporting of lost property or documents, missing-person information and registration, complaint registration, NOC for loudspeakers, permissions for events and demonstrations, copies of FIRs and final forms relating to road accidents, stolen vehicles and theft cases.

Citizens can access the services by saving 9437292000 on their mobile phones and sending ‘Hi’ on WhatsApp. After selecting a language and the required service, applicants can submit the necessary details and documents. The application is then forwarded to the concerned police office or authority and a reference number is generated for tracking its status.
The ‘Ama Sathi’ platform, launched by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi December 25, 2025, as part of the state’s digital governance initiative, is a 24×7 WhatsApp-based citizen service platform. The police services have been integrated into the platform under the Home Department’s ORTPSA framework.
The initiative has been developed through collaboration between the Centre for Modernising Government Initiative (CMGI), State Crime Records Bureau (SCRB), Odisha Police and Meta India (WhatsApp), with SCRB completing the required technical integration.
The expansion is aimed at making police services faster, more transparent and citizen-centric by allowing people to access routine services remotely rather than visiting police offices.
Director, SCRB, Abinash Kumar, delivered the welcome address at the launch. Additional DGP (Law and Order) Sanjay Kumar, Police Commissioner S Devadatta Singh, IG (STF) Himanshu Lal, IG (Intelligence) Satyabrata Bhoi, IG (Crime Branch) Sarthak Sarangi and CMGI Executive Director Surendra Kumar Meena were among those present.
