Kantabanji: A man was sentenced to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment after being convicted of raping a physically-challenged woman.
The court also slapped a fine of Rs 50,000 on the convict identified as Rabi Hans. In case he fails to pay the fine amount, Rabi will have to undergo two more years in prison.
As per the case diary, Rabi had raped the girl in 2016 at Dumerpada village under Bangomunda PS in Bolangir district.
Subsequently, after the victim’s family lodged a complaint with the police, he was arrested and lodged in the sub-prison here, public prosecutor Arun Kumar Bag who represented the government in the case, informed.
