Odisha registers 1220 fresh COVID-19 cases, total exceeds 3.05 lakh

Bhubaneswar: Odisha reported 1220 new cases of coronavirus infections in the state in the last 24 hours. This information was given by the I&PR Department, Government of Odisha in a tweet Tuesday. Out of the new positive coronavirus cases, 703 persons were in quarantine while the remaining contracted the disease by coming in contact with infected persons. Earlier Tuesday the state had reported 987 infections.
The death toll in Odisha rose to 1,469 with 15 new fatalities reported in the last 24 hours. Most of these COVID-19 patients were suffering from diabetes, hypertension and other complications.

District Wise breakdown: Among the new cases reported Wednesday, Angul district reported 58 new COVID-19 cases, Balasore 21, Bargarh 60, Bhadrak 28, Bolangir 33, Boudh 5, Cuttack 96, Deogarh 3,Dhenkanal 26, Gajapati 5, Ganjam 27, Jagatsinghpur 59, Jajpur 26, Jharsuguda 32, Kalahandi 59, Kandhamal 8, Kendrapada 48, Keonjhar 48, Khurda 134, Koraput 21, Malkangiri 19, Mayurbhanj 46, Nabarangpur 14, Nayagarh 20, Nuapada 66, Puri 60, Rayagada 5, Sambalpur 40, Sonepur 13 and Sundargarh 119.  The state pool stands at 21.

The current number of active cases in Odisha stands at 12,341. So far 305000 persons have tested positive for the disease in the state.
