Odisha registers 3,664 new COVID-19 cases; Khurda highest with 704

Bhubaneswar: Odisha registered 3,664 new COVID-19 cases over the last 24 hours, taking the total tally in the state to 3,68,258. Active caseload in the state stands at 21,436. Out of the 3,664 new infections, 2,127 were reported from quarantine centres while 1,537 persons contracted the virus locally.

Khurda district has registered the highest number of new infections with 704 persons testing positive for the disease. It is followed by Sundargarh with 340 new cases.

A total of 95,99,877 swab samples have been cumulatively tested in the state so far. The number of new recoveries stands at 1,303.

Other districts that have reported new COVID-19 cases are: Angul (59), Balasore (39), Bargarh (210), Bhadrak (27), Bolangir (79), Boudh (6), Cuttack (198), Deogarh (30), Dhenkanal (47), Gajapati (63), Ganjam (66), Jagatsinghpur (68), Jajpur (58), Jharsuguda (183), Kalahandi (324), Kandhamal (16), Kendrapara (29), Keonjhar (56), Koraput (39), Malkangiri (4), Mayurbhanj (119), Nabarangpur (81), Nayagarh (28), Nuapada (221), Puri (143), Rayagada (57), Sambalpur (199) and Subarnapur (16).

The State Pool reported 155 new cases. These are persons who have come from outside the state and have tested positive.
