Bhubaneswar: Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), Odisha, has revised the Plus-II syllabus, introducing environmental education and value education as compulsory components from the 2025–26 academic session, a source said Saturday.
According to the source, a unit on environmental education will be added to the compulsory English paper, while value education will be included in Modern Indian Language (MIL) subjects. Both units will replace portions of the existing syllabus without altering the structure of the assessment.
Students appearing for the Annual Higher Secondary Examinations in 2026 will be the first to face questions from the newly added units, the source added.

According to the source, the environmental education module will focus on sustainability and awareness of pressing ecological concerns, while value education will emphasise ethical, cultural, and social values through literature.
