Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi Wednesday directed the MSME department to fast-track the establishment of MSME parks across all districts of the state. Reviewing MSME department activities at Lok Seva Bhavan, the CM urged the organisation of large-scale awareness programmes to draw youth into the sector. Highlighting its vast employment potential, Majhi noted that the state government has created a supportive environment for MSMEs to flourish. “Steps are being taken to set up MSME parks in all districts,” he added. He further urged officials to provide support to small entrepreneurs, businessmen, and self-employed individuals to help them establish their enterprises.
The CM also emphasised the mandatory use of products manufactured by Odisha-based MSMEs in all government offices, including schools and colleges. Discussions were held on sourcing furniture, garments, and other supplies from local MSMEs to provide them with assured markets and incentives. Majhi underscored the need to enhance cargo facilities by both sea and air to promote exports and imports in the MSME sector. He also directed the department to ensure that bank loans for MSMEs are disbursed in a simplified and convenient manner. The meeting reviewed the inclusion of more beneficiaries under the PM Vishwakarma Yojana and proposed additional incentives for cluster-based projects.
