Bhubaneswar: The state government is leaving no stone unturned to promote the Men’s Hockey World Cup. The sporting event will be held in November and December at the Kalinga Stadium here.

After the roadshows held across 17 cities, Odisha Tourism continues to push its exclusive campaign ‘Odisha by Morning, Hockey by Evening’ for the Odisha Hockey Men’s World Cup Bhubaneswar-2018 at the Kolkata airport.

The campaign’s hoardings are placed at Lightbox at the arrival aerobridge, lower arrival lightbox, gantry outside the airport, the digital screen near the conveyor belt, digital POD across the airport and the SHA Digital Wall at the airport.

‘Odisha by Morning, Hockey by Evening’ had received an overwhelming response in London where the campaign was placed on buses and also appreciated at tourism events and roadshows in India and Kuala Lumpur.

Vishal Dev, commissioner-cum-secretary, Odisha Tourism & Sports & Youth Services Department said, “We are perhaps the only state to push sports tourism in its true essence. With less than 55 days to go for Odisha Hockey Men’s World Cup Bhubaneswar-2018, we want to make sure we push the campaign at all locations. We received a lot of tourists from Kolkata and therefore we decided to carry out the campaign there.”

Sachin Das Burma, director, Goddess Advertising, said, “The Odisha Men’s Hockey World Cup-2018 is an exciting marketing opportunity for Odisha. With thousands of fans from across the globe and our country expected to come for this event this is a wonderful platform to showcase Odisha not just as a sporting hub, but also as a tourism destination.”

“Hockey fans are anyway going to come but if we can excite their friends and family we would do a good job. So before the fans book their tickets, we have designed a campaign that showcases Odisha as a fantastic tourist destination, encouraging them to come in huge numbers,” Burma added.

“That’s why we created this campaign that seamlessly marries the excitement of the World Cup with the excitement of discovering the tourism attractions of Odisha,” he concluded.
