Balasore: Two minor boys of Paduka Sasan village under Remuna block of Balasore district drowned while bathing in Budhabalanga River Wednesday.
A source said that the two boys — one aged eight and the other 17 — were brothers in relation.
The incident occurred when the younger one slipped into a deep river and the elder one tried to save him.
While the local people and fire brigade personnel retrieved the body of one of the victims from the river the other was rescued and rushed to a hospital in Baisinga in the Mayurbhanja district in a serious condition.
Despite the doctors’ efforts he also died.
