Bhubaneswar/Baripada: Odisha Vigilance Department officers Monday detected two multi-storey buildings, a five-acre farmhouse and 20 high-value plots during raids on the properties of a government engineer, officials said.
Acting on an allegation of possession of disproportionate assets (DA) to his known sources of income, vigilance sleuths launched search operations at properties linked to Arabinda Mohanty, assistant executive engineer in the Roads and Buildings (R&B) sub-division at Betanoti under the R&B Division, Baripada, in Mayurbhanj district, they said.
The raids, based on search warrants issued by Special Judge, Vigilance, Baripada, were carried out at 10 locations across Mayurbhanj, Baleshwar and Khordha districts, officials said.
A total of five DSPs, eight inspectors and other supporting staff were engaged in the raids, they said.
During the searches, anti-corruption officers so far detected 20 high-value plots in and around Balasore town, a five-acre farmhouse in Bhadrak, two buildings, Rs 2.77 lakh in cash, a four-wheeler and other assets, officials said.
