Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of IMD in Bhubaneswar Monday issued an Orange Warning along with a Yellow Warning for several districts of Odisha.
Upto 8.30 AM of April 25: As per the Orange Warning (be prepared), thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph with hailstorm are very likely to occur at one or two places over Cuttack, Jajpur, Dhenkanal, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Boudh, and Kalahandi districts, the IMD bulletin stated.
As per the Yellow Warning (be updated), thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph are very likely to occur at one or two places over Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Malkangiri and Koraput districts.
The weather agency further informed, thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the remaining districts of the state.
In the same timeframe, light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur in many places in Odisha.
From 8.30 AM of April 25 to 8.30 AM of April 26: As per the Yellow Warning (be updated), thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph are very likey to occur at one or two places over Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Nuapada, Bolangir and Kandhamal districts.
In the same time frame, light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of south coastal Odisha, Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal and at one or two places over the remaining districts of the state.
The weather agency forecasted no change in maximum temperature (day temperature) over the next four to five days and a gradual rise by 2 to 4 degree Celsius thereafter.
In Bhubaneswar, for the next 24 hours, a partly cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain or thundershower is predicted by IMD. Maximum and minimum temperatures are very likely to be around 38 degree Celsius and 24 degree Celsius respectively.
In the last 24 hours, the highest maximum temperature of 38.2 degree Celsius was recorded at Boudh while the lowest minimum temperature of 18.0 degree Celsius was recorded at Nabarangpur, the bulletin informed.
