Odisha weather update: Cyclonic circulation hovers over Andhra Pradesh; IMD sounds heavy rain warning

Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of IMD in Bhubaneswar in its weather update of July 12 informed that a cyclonic circulation lies over north Coastal Andhra Pradesh. The agency issued a Yellow Warning for several districts of Odisha.

Upto 8.30 AM of July 13: As per the Yellow Warning (be updated), heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati and Nabarangpur districts.

In the same timeframe, light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at many places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Gajapati, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal and at a few places over the remaining districts of the state.

From 8.30 AM of July 13 to 8.30 AM of July 14: As per the Yellow Warning (be updated), thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Sundargarh, Angul and Dhenkanal districts.

In the same time frame, light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at many places over the districts of Balasore, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Sundargarh, Bhadrak and at a few places in the remaining districts of the state.

In Bhubaneswar, for the next 24 hours, a partly cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain or thundershower is predicted by IMD. Maximum and minimum temperatures are very likely to be around 35 degree Celsius and 26 degree Celsius respectively.

In the last 24 hours, the highest maximum temperature of 34.8 degree Celsius was recorded at Sambalpur while the lowest minimum temperature of 21.0 degree Celsius was recorded at Boudh, the bulletin informed.
